The goal of the „GiftedHUHR“ project is to develop a system for working with gifted students in partner primary schools in cross border areas and to develop the potential of gifted students in accordance with their preferences, abilites and interests in partner primary schools in cross border areas.

The project "Encouraging and developing gifted kids for more advanced cross border area" with the acronym "GiftedHUHR" was approved within Interreg V-A Hungary-Croatia Cross-border Cooperation Programme 2014-2020. The project started in June 2020, and during the implementation period a number of activities will be carried out with the aim of developing a system for working with gifted students in partner primary schools in the cross-border area and developing the potential of gifted students according to their preferences, abilities and interests in partner schools in the cross-border area.
The goal of the project "GiftedHUHR" is to acquire specific knowledge and skills for teachers and professional assistants in the field of working with gifted students through education and development of programmes for gifted students in various areas of giftedness, developing creativity, innovation and encouraging motivation and intellectual development in gifted students, establishing systematic work with gifted students and connecting theoretical and practical knowledge in the field of working with gifted students through the use of modern technology and didactic educational materials during the implementation of project activities. Project activities will be implemented in the area of Koprivnica-Križevci County (Križevci and Đurđevac) and in the area of Zala County (Zalaegerszeg) in Hungary.
During the implementation period, a number of project activities will be carried out. The main activities are the implementation of trainings for teachers and professional assistants in working with gifted students through which teachers with the help of experienced mentors will have the opportunity to improve knowledge and skills in working with gifted students and organizing round tables for teachers and professional assistants where they will improve their knowledge in creating programmes for working with gifted students. The end result of these activities will be a cross-border primary school manual on encouraging creativity, innovation, motivation and intellectual development of gifted students, printed in Hungarian and Croatian, primary schools equipped with tools for identifying gifted students, didactic educational equipment and technical equipment for project implementation activities as well as educated teachers and professional assistants in the field of working with gifted students. Excellent students who will be previously identified by psychologists will have the opportunity to participate in organized camps that will be held first in Đurđevac and then in Zalaegerszeg. These are creative camps where they will spend their free time with teachers and professional assistants engaging in various sports and cultural activities, which will give them the opportunity to develop their motivation and creativity. In addition to participating in camps, excellent students will have the opportunity to participate in competitions for excellent students and in workshops where students will teach students, which will greatly contribute to the development of their talents and creativity.
The project contributes to the quality of work with gifted students in the primary education system by connecting knowledge and people from the cross-border area and creates joint cooperation of project partners of Primary School Ljudevit Modec Križevci, Primary School Đurđevac and Zalaegerszeg Public Education Center from Hungary.
